Join Natalie Stephens from the Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA) to learn how science and community collaboration are driving meaningful change in the Indian River Lagoon. ORCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of aquatic ecosystems through innovative technologies, science-based action, and community engagement


This presentation will highlight ORCA’s citizen science programs, including our Land to Sea Initiative and Pollution Mapping Citizen Science—projects that directly involve citizen scientists in identifying pollution hotspots, understanding the health of the Lagoon, and becoming engaged in land and water-based habitat restoration techniques. With a focus on actionable, local solutions, attendees will leave informed and inspired to become part of the effort to safeguard our shared waters.
